Odell Cornelious Beckham Jr., born on November 5, 1992, is a prominent American professional football wide receiver and television producer. He began his football journey at Louisiana State University, where he played for the LSU Tigers. Beckham was selected by the New York Giants in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft, marking the start of a remarkable career in the National Football League.
In his rookie season with the Giants, Beckham made an immediate impact, breaking several NFL rookie receiving records despite missing the first four games due to injury. He became the first player in history to achieve over seventy-five receptions, one thousand one hundred yards, and ten touchdowns in a single rookie season. His iconic one-handed touchdown catch against the Dallas Cowboys during a Sunday Night Football game catapulted him into the national spotlight, earning him the title of the greatest catch ever made. For his outstanding performance, he was awarded the 2014 Offensive Rookie of the Year.
Beckham continued to excel in the league, becoming the fastest player to reach both two hundred career receptions and four thousand career receiving yards in 2016. That same year, he recorded his first one hundred-reception season and led the Giants to the NFL playoffs for the first time in his career. Throughout his early years, he was named to the Pro Bowl in each of his first three seasons and received second-team All-Pro honors twice.
After a successful stint with the Cleveland Browns, Beckham joined the Los Angeles Rams midway through the 2021 season, contributing to their victory in Super Bowl LVI. Following a challenging 2022 season spent rehabilitating an ACL injury, he signed with the Baltimore Ravens in 2023. Beckham later transitioned to the Miami Dolphins in 2024, where he mutually agreed to be released in December of the same year.
