Odion Ighalo, born on June 16, 1989, is a prominent Nigerian professional footballer known for his role as a forward. His football journey began in Nigeria, where he played for local clubs Prime and Julius Berger before making a significant move to the Norwegian club Lyn in 2007.
In 2008, Ighalo transitioned to Italian football by signing with Udinese. However, much of his time there was spent on loan at Spanish club Granada, where he honed his skills and gained valuable experience. His breakthrough came in 2014 when he joined Championship side Watford, playing a crucial role in their promotion to the Premier League during the 2014-15 season.
In January 2017, Ighalo made headlines by transferring to the Chinese Super League, signing with Changchun Yatai for a reported sum of twenty million pounds.
