Oksana Lyniv

Oksana Lyniv, born on January sixth, nineteen seventy-eight, is a distinguished Ukrainian conductor renowned for her innovative approach to classical music. Since two thousand twenty-two, she has held the prestigious position of music director at the Teatro Comunale di Bologna, where her artistic vision continues to inspire audiences.

In two thousand sixteen, Lyniv took a significant step in nurturing the next generation of musicians by founding the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine. This initiative reflects her commitment to fostering talent and promoting classical music within her home country.

Oksana made history on July twenty-fifth, two thousand twenty-one, when she conducted the opening of the Bayreuth Festival, leading a new production of Richard Wagner's Der fliegende Holländer. This remarkable achievement marked her as the first female conductor to grace the festival, breaking barriers and paving the way for future generations of female conductors.
