Oleg Saitov

Oleg Saitov, born on May 26, 1974, in Novokuybyshevsk, Russian SFSR, is a distinguished former Olympic boxer known for his remarkable achievements in the sport. He hails from a diverse background, with a Volga Tatar father and an ethnic Russian mother, and has an older brother named Vadim.

His boxing journey began to take shape in 1992 when he represented the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) team at a junior tournament in Scotland, competing in the category up to sixty-three point five kilograms. This early exposure set the stage for a stellar career that would see him rise to prominence on the international stage.

Saitov's Olympic legacy is particularly noteworthy; he clinched the gold medal in the welterweight division at both the 1996 and 2000 Summer Olympics, showcasing his exceptional talent and determination.
