Selected second overall by the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim in the nineteen ninety-four NHL entry draft, Tverdovsky showcased his skills across several teams, including the Winnipeg Jets, Phoenix Coyotes, New Jersey Devils, Carolina Hurricanes, and Los Angeles Kings. Over the course of his NHL career, he played in seven hundred thirteen games, contributing to his teams' successes and earning a reputation as a reliable defenceman.

His achievements include winning two Stanley Cups, first with the New Jersey Devils in two thousand three and later with the Carolina Hurricanes in two thousand six.
