Oleh Liashko, born on December third, nineteen seventy-two, is a prominent Ukrainian politician, journalist, and soldier. He has made significant contributions to the political landscape of Ukraine, particularly as a long-time member of the Verkhovna Rada and as the leader of the Radical Party.
Liashko's political career began in earnest when he was elected as a People's Deputy to the Verkhovna Rada in two thousand six. He continued to build on this foundation by securing a seat in the 2007 parliamentary election as part of the Yulia Tymoshenko Bloc. His political journey saw him elected again in the 2012 and 2014 parliamentary elections, representing his own Radical Party.
In the two thousand fourteen Ukrainian presidential election, Liashko garnered eight point thirty-two percent of the vote, showcasing his influence in Ukrainian politics. However, his fortunes changed in the 2019 parliamentary election when he lost his seat in the Verkhovna Rada.
In response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Liashko took a bold step by joining the Ukrainian Armed Forces. His commitment to his country was further recognized in 2024 when he was appointed as the commander of a battalion specializing in unmanned systems, highlighting his dedication to both his nation and its defense.
