His political career is marked by significant positions, including serving as the Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine.
In two thousand five, Turchynov took on the role of head of the Security Service of Ukraine, showcasing his commitment to national security. His political influence peaked when he became the acting President of Ukraine following the ousting of President Viktor Yanukovych on February twenty-first, two thousand fourteen, a position he held until Petro Poroshenko was inaugurated on June seventh, two thousand fourteen.
Following his presidency, Turchynov was appointed Chairman of the Ukrainian Parliament, a role he maintained until November twenty-seventh, two thousand fourteen.
