Oleksandra Matviichuk

Oleksandra Matviichuk, born on October eighth, nineteen eighty-three, is a prominent Ukrainian human rights lawyer and a dedicated civil society leader based in Kyiv. She is at the forefront of advocating for democratic reforms within Ukraine and the broader OSCE region, demonstrating her commitment to justice and human rights.

As the head of the Centre for Civil Liberties, which was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in two thousand twenty-two, Matviichuk has played a pivotal role in promoting civil liberties and democratic values in her country. Her leadership in this non-profit organization underscores her unwavering dedication to the protection of human rights.

In addition to her work with the Centre for Civil Liberties, Matviichuk has been serving as the Vice-President of the International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH) since October two thousand twenty-two. Her influence extends beyond national borders as she is also a member of the Steering Committee of the World Movement for Democracy, a project supported by the National Endowment for Democracy.
