Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Olof Björnsson

Olof Björnsson, a legendary figure in Swedish history, is often depicted as a king in various Old Norse Sagas, including the Hervarar saga, the Saga of Harald Fairhair, and the Styrbjarnar þáttr Svíakappa. His reign is believed to have occurred around the years nine hundred seventy to nine hundred seventy-five, marking a significant period in the early history of Sweden.

Born to Björn Eriksson, who also held the title of king, Olof ascended to power alongside his brother, Eric the Victorious, following their father's death. This joint rule was pivotal in shaping the political landscape of the time. Olof's marriage to Ingeborg Thrandsdotter produced notable offspring, including Styrbjörn Starke and Gyrid, who later became queen consort to King Harald Bluetooth.

Tragically, Olof's life was cut short when he succumbed to poison during a meal. In a controversial decision, Eric chose to proclaim his own unborn son as co-ruler instead of naming his nephew Styrbjörn as his successor. This son would later be known as Olof Skötkonung, a significant figure in Swedish history.
