Olusoji Fasuba

Olusoji Fasuba, born on July ninth, nineteen eighty-four, is a distinguished Nigerian sprinter renowned for his exceptional prowess in the 100 metres event. He made history as the African record holder in this discipline, clocking an impressive time of nine point eighty-five seconds, a record that stood until it was narrowly surpassed by Akani Simbine in July twenty twenty-one.

Fasuba's athletic journey reached a significant milestone during the 2004 Olympic Games, where he was a vital member of the Nigerian team that secured a bronze medal in the 4 × 100 metres relay. That same year, he showcased his dominance on the continental stage by clinching the title at the African Championships in the 100 metres.

In addition to his Olympic success, Fasuba earned a silver medal at the 2006 Commonwealth Games, finishing just behind the legendary Asafa Powell. His remarkable achievements continued as he became the indoor world champion over sixty metres in 2008, marking a historic moment as the first African to achieve this prestigious title.
