She first gained national attention as a contestant on the inaugural season of NBC's The Apprentice, where her strong presence and strategic gameplay captivated audiences. In January 2017, Newman took on a prominent role in the Trump administration as the assistant to the President and director of communications for the Office of Public Liaison.
