Omri Casspi, born on June twenty-second, nineteen eighty-eight, is a distinguished former professional basketball player from Israel. Primarily recognized for his versatility on the court, he played mainly as a small forward but also showcased his skills as a power forward throughout his career.

In two thousand nine, Casspi made history by being drafted twenty-third overall in the NBA draft by the Sacramento Kings, becoming the first Israeli player to be selected in the first round. His debut with the Kings marked another milestone, as he became the first Israeli to participate in a National Basketball Association game.

During his rookie season, Casspi's talent shone brightly, earning him a spot in the NBA All-Star Weekend Rookie Challenge. His journey continued when he was traded to the Cleveland Cavaliers in June two thousand eleven, followed by a signing with the Houston Rockets in July two thousand thirteen.

In July two thousand fourteen, Casspi was involved in a three-team trade that sent him to the New Orleans Pelicans, although he was later waived. He made a return to Sacramento before the two thousand fourteen to fifteen season. In February two thousand seventeen, he was traded to the Pelicans alongside DeMarcus Cousins, and later signed with the Golden State Warriors during the offseason. Unfortunately, after suffering an injury in April, he was waived and subsequently signed with the Memphis Grizzlies in July two thousand eighteen.
