Romeu's football journey began at FC Barcelona, where he primarily showcased his talents with the reserves at Barcelona B. In 2011, he made a pivotal move to Chelsea for a transfer fee of five million euros, which marked the beginning of an exciting chapter in his career. During his time with Chelsea, he gained valuable experience through loan spells at Valencia and VfB Stuttgart.
