Óscar Cardozo

Óscar René Cardozo Marín, affectionately known as Tacuara, is a retired Paraguayan professional footballer born on May 20, 1983. Renowned for his striking prowess, particularly his powerful left-foot shot and exceptional free-kick skills, Cardozo made a significant impact in the world of football.

His career took off at Newell's Old Boys, where his talent caught the attention of scouts, leading to a pivotal move to Benfica in two thousand seven. During his time with the Portuguese giants, he netted nearly two hundred official goals and secured eight major titles, including the national championship in two thousand ten, where he was the top scorer, and the domestic treble in the two thousand thirteen to fourteen season.

After a successful stint in Portugal, Cardozo ventured to Turkey, where he played for Trabzonspor for two years before joining Olympiacos.
