Pál Joensen

Pál Joensen, born on December tenth, nineteen ninety, in Vágur, Suðuroy, Faroe Islands, is a distinguished swimmer who has made significant contributions to the sport. As an elite athlete, he has represented Denmark in various international competitions, including the prestigious Summer Olympics.

Joensen's remarkable achievements include winning medals at both the World and European Championships. Notably, he earned a bronze medal in the men's 1500 metre freestyle at the 2012 FINA World Swimming Championships (25 m) held in Istanbul, marking a historic moment as the first medal won by a Faroese swimmer at the World Aquatic Championships.

In the 2012 Summer Olympics, Joensen showcased his versatility by competing in three events: the 400 metre freestyle, the 4 × 200 metre freestyle relay, and the 1500 metre freestyle. As a proud Faroese athlete, he represented Denmark, as the Faroe Islands do not have a separate Olympic committee.
