Panagiotis Pipinelis was a prominent Greek politician and diplomat, born on 21 March 1899 in the bustling port city of Piraeus. His academic journey took him to the University of Zurich, where he studied Law and Political Science, and later to the Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg in Germany in 1920.

In 1922, Pipinelis embarked on a distinguished career in the Greek diplomatic corps, where he held various significant positions. His dedication and expertise led him to become the Permanent Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs from 1947 to 1948. In 1952, he was appointed as Greece's permanent representative to NATO, a role he held until his resignation the following year.

His political career further flourished when he served as Minister for Trade in the cabinet of Konstantinos Karamanlis from 1961 to 1963. Following Karamanlis' resignation and self-exile, Pipinelis briefly stepped into the role of interim Prime Minister of Greece from 17 June 1963 to 29 September 1963.
