Papy Djilobodji, born on December 1, 1988, is a talented Senegalese professional footballer currently playing for Sarıyer in the Turkish TFF 1. Lig and representing the Senegal national team. Known for his versatility, Djilobodji excels as both a centre back and a defensive midfielder.
His football journey began in Senegal with ASC Saloum before he made the leap to France in 2009, joining the amateur side Sénart-Moissy. His impressive performances there quickly caught the attention of FC Nantes, where he spent over five and a half seasons, culminating in two seasons in Ligue 1.
In 2015, Djilobodji signed with Chelsea, although his time at the club was brief, featuring in a single League Cup match. He was subsequently loaned to Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga before making a significant move to Sunderland for a transfer fee of eight million pounds. However, after Sunderland's relegation in his first season, he was loaned to Dijon in 2017, only to face termination of his contract in September 2018 due to a breach of contract.
Following this setback, he joined Guingamp in 2019. On the international stage, Djilobodji made his debut for the Senegal national team in 2013 and was part of the squad that competed in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, showcasing his skills on a continental level.
