Pascal Chimbonda

Pascal Chimbonda, born on February twenty-first, nineteen seventy-nine, is a distinguished French football coach and former professional player. He began his career in nineteen ninety-eight with Le Havre, where he made over one hundred appearances for both the first team and the B team. In two thousand three, he transferred to Bastia, marking the start of his ascent in professional football.

In two thousand five, Chimbonda joined Wigan Athletic, contributing significantly to their inaugural Premier League season. His exceptional performance earned him a spot in the Premier League Team of the Year. However, after submitting a transfer request on the final day of the two thousand five to two thousand six season, he moved to Tottenham Hotspur that summer. His journey continued through various clubs, including Sunderland, a brief return to Spurs, Blackburn Rovers, and Queens Park Rangers, before he played for Doncaster Rovers during the two thousand eleven to two thousand twelve season.

After a year without a club, Chimbonda signed non-contract terms with Market Drayton Town, followed by a stint at Carlisle, and ultimately retired after a brief period with AC Arles-Avignon. In two thousand seventeen, he made a comeback, playing for non-League teams Washington and Ashton Town.

Chimbonda's international career began with Guadeloupe, but he later earned a place in the French squad for the two thousand six World Cup, where he remained an unused substitute throughout the tournament. His only cap for France came in a warm-up match against Denmark.

In October two thousand twenty-three, Chimbonda took on the role of player-manager for Skelmersdale United. Following a three-match touchline ban by the FA, he was registered as a player in January two thousand twenty-four. Unfortunately, he was relieved of his managerial duties on May fourth, two thousand twenty-four, after the club faced relegation.
