Passenger

A passenger is defined as an individual who travels within a vehicle without taking on the responsibilities associated with operating that vehicle. This role is distinct from that of crew members or the vehicle's driver or pilot, who are tasked with ensuring the vehicle reaches its destination safely and efficiently.

Passengers can be found in a variety of transportation modes, including bicycles, buses, cars, passenger trains, airliners, ships, ferryboats, personal watercraft, all-terrain vehicles, and snowmobiles. Their primary function is to enjoy the journey without the obligations that come with operating the vehicle.

It is important to note that while crew members, such as flight attendants or kitchen staff on a ship, are not considered passengers while on duty, an employee traveling in a company car driven by another individual is classified as a passenger, regardless of the business context.
