Pat LaFontaine

Pat LaFontaine, born on February 22, 1965, is a celebrated American former professional ice hockey player renowned for his exceptional skills as a center in the National Hockey League (NHL). His illustrious career spanned from 1983 to 1998, during which he showcased his talent with three New York State-based teams: the New York Islanders, the Buffalo Sabres, and the New York Rangers.

LaFontaine's journey began with the New York Islanders, where he played from nineteen eighty-three until nineteen ninety-one. He then moved to the Buffalo Sabres, contributing significantly to the team from nineteen ninety-one to nineteen ninety-seven. His final chapter in the NHL was with the New York Rangers, where he concluded his playing career in nineteen ninety-eight. Over the course of his career, LaFontaine scored four hundred sixty-eight goals and amassed one thousand thirteen points, achieving an impressive average of one point seventeen points per game, the highest among American-born players, both active and retired.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the sport, LaFontaine was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in two thousand three. His legacy was further solidified in two thousand seventeen when he was named one of the '100 Greatest NHL Players' in history.
