Patrick D'Rozario

Patrick D'Rozario, born on October first, nineteen forty-three, is a distinguished Bangladeshi prelate of the Catholic Church. He served as the Archbishop of Dhaka from two thousand twelve until two thousand twenty, marking a significant period in the Catholic community of Bangladesh.

In two thousand sixteen, Pope Francis recognized his contributions to the Church by appointing him as a cardinal, making him the very first Roman Catholic cardinal from Bangladesh. This historic appointment not only elevated his status but also highlighted the growing influence of the Catholic Church in the region.

Before his tenure as Archbishop, D'Rozario led various dioceses in Bangladesh from nineteen ninety-five to two thousand ten. His leadership has been characterized by a commitment to social justice and community development, reflecting the core values of the Catholic faith.
