Personal Facts, Age, Height and Biography of Patti Page

Clara Ann Fowler, known to the world as Patti Page, was born on November 8, 1927, and became a defining voice in American music. With a career that spanned six decades, she emerged as the top-charting female vocalist and best-selling female artist of the 1950s, selling over one hundred million records. Page was affectionately dubbed 'the Singin' Rage, Miss Patti Page' and was introduced by New York disc-jockey William B. Williams as 'A Page in my life called Patti'.

In 1947, Page signed with Mercury Records, marking the beginning of her illustrious career. Her first major hit, 'Confess', released in 1948, set the stage for her success. By 1950, she achieved her first million-selling single with 'With My Eyes Wide Open, I'm Dreaming', followed by an impressive total of fifteen million-selling singles by 1965. Her signature song, 'Tennessee Waltz', not only became the best-selling song of the 1950s by a female artist but also one of the biggest-selling singles of the twentieth century, spending thirteen weeks at the top of the Billboard best-sellers list.

Patti Page's unique ability to blend pop and country music allowed her to reach a diverse audience, with many of her singles appearing on the Billboard Country Chart. In the 1970s, she shifted her focus more towards country music, achieving further success and becoming one of the few vocalists to chart in five separate decades. Despite the rise of rock and roll in the 1950s, Page maintained her popularity, continuing to produce hits into the 1960s, including 'Old Cape Cod' and 'Hush, Hush, Sweet Charlotte'.

Her contributions to music were recognized with her induction into the Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame in 1997. Following her passing on January 1, 2013, Patti Page was posthumously honored with the Lifetime Achievement Grammy Award, solidifying her legacy as a beloved icon in the music industry.
