Patty Hajdu

Patricia A. Hajdu, born on March 11, 1966, is a prominent Canadian politician and a dedicated member of the Liberal Party. Since May 13, 2025, she has held the position of Minister of Jobs and Families, showcasing her commitment to enhancing the workforce and supporting families across Canada.

Hajdu's political journey began with her election to the House of Commons in the 2015 federal election, where she represents the Thunder Bay—Superior North riding. Her career has been marked by a series of significant roles, including her tenure as the Minister of Status of Women from 2015 to 2017, and later as the Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour from 2017 to 2019.

In addition to her work in employment and family services, Hajdu served as the Minister of Health from 2019 to 2021, where she played a crucial role in addressing health issues facing Canadians. Following this, she took on the responsibilities of Minister of Indigenous Services from 2021 until 2025, further demonstrating her commitment to serving diverse communities.

As the current minister responsible for FedNor, Hajdu continues to advocate for economic development in Northern Ontario, ensuring that her constituents have access to the resources and support they need to thrive.
