Patty Mills, born on August eleventh, nineteen eighty-eight, is an accomplished Australian professional basketball player currently representing La Laguna Tenerife in the Liga ACB and the Basketball Champions League. In addition to his playing career, he serves as the general manager of the Hawaii Rainbow Warriors basketball program at the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa.

Raised in Canberra, Mills is of Torres Strait Islander and Aboriginal Australian descent, specifically from the Kokatha and Dauareb-Meriam peoples. His journey in basketball began to gain national attention in two thousand seven when he became the third Indigenous player to don the Australian national team jersey.

After being selected by the Portland Trail Blazers as the fifty-fifth overall pick in the two thousand nine NBA draft, Mills played for the team for two seasons. During the NBA lockout in two thousand eleven, he showcased his skills with the Melbourne Tigers in the National Basketball League and the Xinjiang Flying Tigers in China. In March two thousand twelve, he returned to the NBA, signing with the San Antonio Spurs, where he played a pivotal role in their two thousand fourteen championship victory.

Mills' leadership and exceptional three-point shooting have made him a standout player, particularly during his time with the Australian Boomers. In two thousand twenty-one, he led the team to its first-ever Olympic medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, earning the nickname 'FIBA Patty' for his remarkable performances. He is also recognized as the fifth highest scorer in Olympic basketball history.
