Patxi López

Patxi López, born on October fourth, nineteen fifty-nine, is a prominent Spanish politician known for his significant contributions to the political landscape of the Basque Country and Spain as a whole. Currently, he serves as a Member of the Congress of Deputies and holds the esteemed position of chair of the Constitutional Committee.

His political journey includes a notable tenure as the President of the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country from two thousand nine to two thousand twelve. López also briefly presided over the Congress of Deputies during the eleventh legislature, from January to July of two thousand sixteen, showcasing his leadership capabilities at a national level.

In addition to these roles, he was the Secretary-General of the Socialist Party of Euskadi – Euskadiko Ezkerra (PSE-EE) from two thousand two to two thousand fourteen. His leadership within the Basque affiliate of the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) has been instrumental in shaping regional policies and advancing the party's agenda.
