By nineteen eighty, he had transitioned to Montreal's CKVL, and the following year, he joined CJMS, where he would rise to the position of news director by nineteen eighty-five.

In nineteen eighty-eight, Arcand took on the role of PM drive show host, and by nineteen ninety, he had established himself as the morning man. Following the closure of CJMS in nineteen ninety-four due to a merger, he moved to CKAC, where he continued to build his reputation as a trusted voice in morning talk radio.

In two thousand, Arcand expanded his reach by joining the TVA television network, hosting a popular half-hour interview show titled 'Arcand' until April two thousand five. His insightful interviewing style earned him a loyal audience, and he was known for asking the tough questions while maintaining a centrist political stance.
