Paul Clifton Anthony George Sr., born on May 2, 1990, is a prominent American professional basketball player currently showcasing his talents with the Philadelphia 76ers in the National Basketball Association (NBA). Known affectionately by his nickname, 'PG-13', George has established himself as a formidable force on the court, earning recognition as a nine-time NBA All-Star and a six-time member of the All-NBA Team.
George's basketball journey began at Knight High School, where he honed his skills before moving on to play two seasons with the Fresno State Bulldogs in college. His professional career took off when he was selected by the Indiana Pacers as the tenth overall pick in the 2010 NBA draft, quickly making a name for himself by earning NBA All-Rookie Second Team honors.
In 2013, George's hard work paid off as he was named the NBA Most Improved Player, marking the beginning of his ascent in the league. That same year, he earned his first All-Star selection and led the Pacers to their first Eastern Conference Finals appearance since two thousand four. However, his career faced a significant challenge in 2014 when he suffered a broken leg while competing for a spot on the United States national team for the FIBA Basketball World Cup, sidelining him for most of the 2014–15 season.
After a remarkable recovery, George returned to All-Star form in 2016, adding an Olympic gold medal to his accolades. His career continued to evolve as he was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder in 2017, where he played for two seasons before joining the Los Angeles Clippers in 2019. During his time with the Clippers, the team made four playoff appearances, including their first trip to the Conference Finals in 2021. In 2024, George signed with the Philadelphia 76ers, continuing to make his mark in the league.
