Paul Gosar

Paul Gosar, born on November twenty-second, nineteen fifty-eight, is an American politician and former dentist who has made a significant impact in the political landscape of Arizona. He has served as the U.S. representative for Arizona’s ninth congressional district since two thousand thirteen, having previously represented the first district from two thousand eleven to two thousand thirteen. A member of the Republican Party, Gosar first entered Congress in two thousand ten.

Known for his far-right political stance, Gosar has garnered attention for his controversial views, including support for conspiracy theories and opposition to contraception. His connections to Holocaust deniers and far-right militant groups, such as the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers, have further fueled public debate. He is a vocal opponent of the Affordable Care Act, abortion, gun control, and immigration, aligning himself closely with former President Donald Trump.

In November two thousand twenty-one, Gosar faced formal censure from the U.S. House of Representatives, resulting in the loss of his committee assignments. This action was taken after he posted an anime video on social media that depicted violence against fellow lawmakers, including Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and President Joe Biden. However, following the Republican Party's regain of the House majority in two thousand twenty-two, he was reinstated to his committee roles.

As of March thirteen, two thousand twenty-five, Gosar and fellow representative David Schweikert have shared the deanship of Arizona's congressional delegation. With Schweikert planning to retire to run for governor in two thousand twenty-six, Gosar is set to become the sole dean of the delegation in two thousand twenty-seven.
