Paul Verhoeven

He is celebrated for his genre films that often incorporate strong satirical elements, graphic violence, and sexual content, making his work both provocative and controversial upon release.

Verhoeven first gained attention with the television series Floris in the Netherlands, but it was his breakthrough film, Turkish Delight, released in nineteen seventy-three, that solidified his reputation.
