Paula Fox

Paula Fox, born on April 22, 1923, was a distinguished American author renowned for her contributions to both adult and children's literature. Her literary journey is marked by a series of acclaimed novels and two poignant memoirs that reflect her unique perspective and storytelling prowess.

In 1974, Fox was awarded the prestigious Newbery Medal for her novel, The Slave Dancer, a testament to her ability to engage young readers with profound themes. Her accolades continued with the Hans Christian Andersen Award in 1978, followed by the National Book Award in 1983 for Children's Fiction (paperback) for her work, A Place Apart.
