Paula von Preradović, born on 12 October 1887 in Vienna, was an influential Austrian writer and poet of Croatian descent. She was the granddaughter of the esteemed Croatian poet and military general Petar Preradović. In 1889, her family relocated to Pula, Istria, where her literary journey began to take shape.
Throughout her life, Preradović lived in various cities, including Copenhagen and Vienna, where she cultivated her talents in writing, poetry, and composition. She was married to Ernst Molden, a prominent journalist and diplomat, who was also the founder of the Austrian newspaper Die Presse. Together, they raised two sons: Otto Molden, a noted publicist and federalist, and Fritz Molden, a respected journalist.
