Pavlo Klimkin, born on December twenty-fifth, nineteen sixty-seven, is a distinguished Ukrainian diplomat and politician. He served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine from June nineteenth, two thousand fourteen, until August twenty-ninth, two thousand nineteen. His extensive career in the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry began in nineteen ninety-three, where he has held various significant positions.
With a background in physics from Moscow, Klimkin has been instrumental in shaping Ukraine's foreign relations. Notably, he was the director of the department for the European Union and served as deputy foreign minister during the First Azarov Government. His efforts were pivotal in negotiating the Ukraine–European Union Association Agreement, a landmark achievement in Ukraine's European integration.
Before his tenure as Foreign Minister, Klimkin was the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Germany from two thousand twelve to two thousand fourteen.
