Pelagia, known as Pelagia of Antioch, Pelagia the Penitent, and Pelagia the Harlot, was a remarkable figure in early Christian history, living during the 4th or 5th century. Her life was marked by a profound commitment to asceticism, which ultimately led to her untimely demise in the year four hundred fifty-seven. Celebrated for her spiritual journey, Pelagia's feast day is observed on the eighth of October, a date that was originally shared with other saints bearing her name.
