Penny Wong

Penny Wong, born on November fifth, nineteen sixty-eight, is a prominent Australian politician and barrister, currently serving as the Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Leader of the Government in the Senate since twenty twenty-two. A member of the Labor Party, she has represented South Australia in the Senate since two thousand two, having first entered politics by winning a Senate seat in the two thousand one election.

Wong's political career is marked by her groundbreaking achievements, including becoming Australia's first-ever Minister for Climate Change following Labor's victory in the two thousand seven election. She played a significant role in representing Australia at the pivotal 2009 UN Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen. After the two thousand ten election, she transitioned to the role of Minister for Finance and Deregulation, and in June two thousand thirteen, she was elected as the Leader of the Government in the Senate.
