Pepin of Landen, also known as the Elder or the Old, was a prominent political figure in the early medieval period, born around the year five hundred eighty-five. His influence was particularly felt during the Merovingian dynasty, where he served as the Mayor of the Palace of Austrasia.
His political career reached a significant milestone when he was appointed Mayor under King Dagobert I, serving from six hundred twenty-three to six hundred twenty-nine. This role placed him at the heart of the political machinations of the time, allowing him to shape the governance of Austrasia.
Following his tenure with Dagobert I, Pepin continued to wield considerable power as the Mayor for Sigebert III, a position he held until his death on the twenty-first of February in the year six hundred forty. His legacy as a key political leader during a transformative era in Frankish history remains noteworthy.
