Per Gessle

Per Gessle, born on January twelfth, nineteen fifty-nine, is a renowned Swedish singer-songwriter and guitarist, celebrated for his significant contributions to the music industry. He is best known as the male half and primary songwriter of the iconic pop rock duo Roxette, which he co-founded with Marie Fredriksson in nineteen eighty-six. The duo achieved remarkable international success during the late eighties and early nineties, particularly with their albums Look Sharp! released in nineteen eighty-eight and Joyride in nineteen ninety-one. Their hit single, 'It Must Have Been Love,' famously featured in the film Pretty Woman, helped them top the charts in the United States four times.

Before the formation of Roxette, Gessle had already made a name for himself in Sweden as the frontman of Gyllene Tider. This band released three number-one albums in the early eighties but disbanded shortly after their fourth album, The Heartland Café, in nineteen eighty-four. Gessle's musical journey did not end there; he continued to thrive in his career, recording numerous solo albums in both Swedish and English during the intervals between Roxette and Gyllene Tider reunions.

In two thousand three, following Fredriksson's illness, Gessle released the album Mazarin, which marked a critical and commercial success, leading to a fruitful collaboration with backing vocalist Helena Josefsson. He continued to produce music during Fredriksson's treatment, releasing three more albums: Son of a Plumber in two thousand five, En händig man in two thousand seven, and Party Crasher in two thousand eight.

After the conclusion of Roxette's Neverending World Tour in two thousand fifteen, Gessle embarked on another series of solo projects, including En vacker natt and En vacker dag, both released in two thousand seventeen, and Small Town Talk in two thousand eighteen. In two thousand sixteen, he adopted the pseudonym Mono Mind, initially releasing several singles before launching a full album, Mind Control, in two thousand nineteen. Throughout his career, Gessle has been the principal songwriter for both Roxette and Gyllene Tider, leaving an indelible mark on the music landscape.
