Pero Vaz de Caminha, born in the year fourteen fifty, was a notable Portuguese knight and an accomplished writer. His journey into history began when he accompanied the famed explorer Pedro Álvares Cabral on an expedition to India in fifteen hundred, serving as the secretary to the royal factory.

During this voyage, Caminha played a pivotal role in documenting the monumental discovery of Brazil by Cabral's fleet. His detailed official report, known as the 'Carta de Pêro Vaz de Caminha,' was penned on the first of May in fifteen hundred, capturing the essence of this significant event in Portuguese exploration.

Tragically, Caminha's life was cut short later that year when he met his demise in a riot in Calicut, India. His contributions to the chronicles of exploration remain invaluable, providing insights into the early encounters between Europe and the New World.
