Pete Ham

Pete Ham, born on April 27, 1947, was a talented Welsh musician, renowned for his role as the lead vocalist and songwriter of the iconic rock band Badfinger. His musical journey began in 1961, and he quickly became a pivotal figure in the band, contributing to its distinctive sound and success.

One of Ham's most notable achievements was co-writing the timeless ballad 'Without You,' which soared to the top of the charts as a worldwide number one hit for Harry Nilsson. This song has since been covered by countless artists, solidifying its status as a classic. In recognition of his exceptional songwriting, Ham was honored with two Ivor Novello Awards in 1973.

Tragically, Pete Ham's life was cut short when he died by suicide in 1975 at the tender age of twenty-seven. His passing came after Badfinger faced severe financial difficulties, largely due to the mismanagement of their fraudulent manager, Stan Polley.
