Peter Boehm

Peter Boehm, born on April twenty-six, nineteen fifty-four, is a distinguished Canadian politician and former diplomat whose career spans several key roles in public service. Appointed to the Senate of Canada in October two thousand eighteen, he has made significant contributions to the country's political landscape.

From two thousand eight to two thousand twelve, Boehm served as Canada's ambassador to Germany, where he played a crucial role in strengthening bilateral relations. His expertise in international affairs continued as he held the positions of associate deputy minister and senior associate deputy minister at Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada from two thousand twelve to two thousand sixteen.

In March two thousand sixteen, he was appointed deputy minister of international development, further showcasing his commitment to global issues. His leadership was recognized when he was appointed deputy minister for the two thousand eighteen G7 Summit on July thirty-one, two thousand seventeen, while also serving as the Canadian Sherpa, representing the prime minister at G7 and Nuclear Security Summits.
