Peter Okpaleke

Peter Okpaleke, born on March first, nineteen sixty-three, is a distinguished Nigerian prelate and cardinal of the Catholic Church. He has been serving as the Bishop of Ekwulobia since April twenty-nine, two thousand twenty, a role that highlights his commitment to the spiritual leadership of his community.

His journey in the Church began with his appointment as Bishop of Ahiara in two thousand twelve, followed by his consecration in two thousand thirteen. However, due to the strong desire of the local clergy and laity for an Mbaise bishop, he was later installed as the Bishop of Ekwulobia, where he continues to make a significant impact.

In recognition of his contributions to the Church and his community, Pope Francis elevated him to the rank of cardinal on August twenty-seven, two thousand twenty-two. This honor reflects his dedication and the respect he has garnered within the Catholic Church.
