Peter Ostrum

Peter Ostrum, born on November first, nineteen fifty-seven, is an American retired veterinarian and former child actor, best known for his role as Charlie Bucket in the iconic 1971 film, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. At the tender age of twelve, he was discovered by talent agents and cast in this beloved classic. Although he cherished the experience of filming, he chose not to pursue a career in the entertainment industry, opting instead for a more traditional path.

After the film's release, Ostrum was hesitant to discuss his role, preferring to move on from his brief stint in Hollywood. However, in nineteen ninety, he began an annual tradition of engaging with schoolchildren about his experiences on set, rekindling interest in his past when Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory hit theaters in two thousand five.

Upon returning from the film shoot, Ostrum developed a passion for his family's horses, which was further nurtured by the veterinarian who cared for them. This newfound interest led him to pursue a career in veterinary medicine, culminating in a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in nineteen eighty-four. He dedicated himself to this profession until his retirement in late twenty twenty-three.

As of twenty twenty-one, Peter Ostrum resides in Glenfield, New York, with his wife Loretta Lepkowski. Together, they have raised two children, embracing a fulfilling life away from the limelight.
