Peter Withe

Peter Withe, born on August 30, 1951, is a distinguished English former football player and manager, whose career spanned from 1971 to 1990. He made a significant impact as a forward, particularly during his time at Nottingham Forest, where he achieved notable successes including the Anglo-Scottish Cup and promotion to the Second Division in the 1976-77 season. His contributions were pivotal in securing the First Division title and the Football League Cup in the 1977-78 season, along with the 1978 FA Charity Shield.

After his successful stint at Nottingham Forest, Withe moved to Newcastle United before becoming Aston Villa's record signing. His tenure at Villa was marked by triumph, as he played a crucial role in winning the First Division title in the 1980-81 season. Withe's most memorable moment came when he scored the only goal in the 1982 European Cup final, further adding to his accolades with a victory in the 1982 European Super Cup.

On the international stage, Withe represented England eleven times, finding the net once. He was also part of the squad that competed in the 1982 FIFA World Cup, showcasing his talent on a global platform.

Following his playing career, Withe transitioned into management, where he predominantly worked in Southeast Asia, continuing to influence the sport beyond his playing days.
