Petros Persakis

Petros Persakis, born on January first, eighteen seventy-nine, was a distinguished Greek artistic gymnast who made his mark in the world of sports during the late nineteenth century.

He showcased his exceptional talent at the inaugural modern Olympic Games held in Athens in eighteen ninety-six. Competing in both the individual rings and team parallel bars events, Persakis demonstrated remarkable skill and dedication.

In the individual rings event, he achieved a commendable third place, showcasing his prowess among the elite gymnasts of his time. Additionally, as a member of the Panellinios Gymnastikos Syllogos team, he contributed to their success in the team parallel bars, where they secured a silver medal, finishing second among three competing teams.
