Malik Izaak Taylor, born on November 20, 1970, was a Trinidadian-American musician and actor, widely recognized by his stage name, Phife Dawg. He was a pivotal member of the influential hip-hop group A Tribe Called Quest, alongside Q-Tip and Ali Shaheed Muhammad, and briefly with Jarobi White. Phife's contributions to the group helped shape the sound of hip-hop in the 1990s, making them one of the most celebrated acts in the genre.

Known affectionately as the 'Five-Foot Assassin' and the 'Five-Footer', Phife stood at a modest height of five feet three inches.
