Phil Jagielka

Phil Jagielka, born on August 17, 1982, is a distinguished English former professional footballer renowned for his role as a centre-back. His football journey began at Sheffield United, where he progressed through the youth ranks from 1998 to 2000, making his first-team debut in the latter year. Jagielka played a pivotal role in helping the club secure top-flight status for the 2006–07 season.

In 2007, following Sheffield United's relegation, Jagielka made a significant move to Everton for a transfer fee of four million pounds. Over the course of his twelve-year tenure at the club, he became a stalwart, captaining the team from 2013 to 2019 and amassing a remarkable total of 385 appearances.

After leaving Everton in July 2019, Jagielka returned to his roots at Sheffield United. His career continued with brief stints at Championship clubs Derby County and Stoke City before he ultimately hung up his boots in 2023 at the age of 41.

On the international stage, Jagielka made his debut for the England national team in 2008, earning 40 caps throughout his career. He was also selected for the England squads at UEFA Euro 2012 and the 2014 FIFA World Cup, showcasing his talent on a global platform.
