Pier-Luc Funk

Pier-Luc Funk, born on May fifth, nineteen ninety-four, is a prominent Canadian actor known for his dynamic roles in both film and television. He gained significant recognition for his portrayal of Maxime in the acclaimed 2018 film Genesis (Genèse), which earned him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the prestigious Prix Iris during the twenty-first Quebec Cinema Awards.

Funk's journey in acting began in his childhood with a leading role in the 2008 film A No-Hit No-Run Summer (Un été sans point ni coup sûr). His career took off as he joined the cast of the teen drama series Tactik, where he captivated audiences as Samuel Langevin from two thousand nine to two thousand thirteen.

In two thousand fourteen and fifteen, he showcased his comedic talents as a cast member of SNL Québec, a local adaptation of the iconic Saturday Night Live. Following the show's cancellation, he transitioned to the new series Le nouveau show. That same year, he took on a darker role in the drama series Mémoires vives, portraying Jérémie, a character involved in a chilling kidnapping plot. His performance in this series earned him the Prix Gémeaux for Best Actor in a Drama Series in two thousand seventeen, making him the youngest recipient in the history of the award.

In two thousand twenty-one, Funk expanded his repertoire by hosting Sans rancune, a variety series on TVA. Notably, he participated in a memorable lipsync battle against drag queen Rita Baga during an episode dedicated to the drag community, further showcasing his versatility as a performer.
