Piercarlo Ghinzani

Piercarlo Ghinzani, born on January sixteenth, nineteen fifty-two, is a distinguished Italian former racing driver and motorsport executive. His career in Formula One spanned from nineteen eighty-one to nineteen eighty-nine, during which he showcased his skills across various teams including Osella, Toleman, Ligier, and Zakspeed.

Ghinzani made his Formula One debut at the Belgian Grand Prix in nineteen eighty-one and participated in a total of one hundred eleven Grands Prix. His most notable achievement came in nineteen eighty-four at the Dallas Grand Prix, where he secured his only points finish, crossing the line in fifth place while driving for Osella.

In addition to his Formula One endeavors, Ghinzani also competed in the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans on four occasions between nineteen eighty and nineteen eighty-three with Lancia. Unfortunately, mechanical issues plagued his attempts, leading to retirements each time.

After hanging up his racing gloves, Ghinzani transitioned into a leadership role within the motorsport community by founding Team Ghinzani in nineteen ninety-two. The team has since made its mark in various competitions, including A1 Grand Prix as A1 Team Italy from two thousand five to two thousand nine, as well as participating in several national and continental Formula Three championships.
