Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, born on June 18, 1989, is a professional footballer who currently plays as a striker for Ligue 1 club Marseille and the Gabon national team. His journey in football began with AC Milan in Italy, although he did not make any appearances for the club. Instead, he embarked on a series of loan spells in France, which ultimately led to his transfer to Saint-Étienne in 2011. During his time there, he achieved success by winning the Coupe de la Ligue title.

In 2013, Aubameyang made a significant move to Borussia Dortmund in Germany, where he quickly established himself as a key player. He finished as the league's top goalscorer in the 2016–17 season and contributed to the team's success by winning the DFB-Pokal. His remarkable goal-scoring ability earned him a place as the eighth-highest all-time goalscorer for the club.

The year 2018 marked a pivotal moment in Aubameyang's career when he transferred to Arsenal for a then-club record fee of fifty-six million pounds, making him the most expensive Gabonese player in history. At Arsenal, he continued to shine, winning an FA Cup and sharing the title of joint-top goalscorer in the 2018–19 season. After leaving Arsenal in 2022, he had brief stints with Barcelona and Chelsea before returning to Marseille in 2023.

Internationally, Aubameyang chose to represent Gabon, making his senior debut in 2009 at the age of nineteen. He has since become the nation's all-time top scorer with forty goals and has represented Gabon in six Africa Cup of Nations tournaments and the 2012 Summer Olympics. His outstanding performances earned him the title of African Footballer of the Year in 2015, making him the first Gabonese and the second European-born player to receive this prestigious award.
