Pierre-Emile Højbjerg

Pierre-Emile Højbjerg, born on August 5, 1995, is a distinguished Danish professional footballer who excels as a defensive midfielder. Currently, he captains both the Ligue 1 club Marseille and the Denmark national team, showcasing his leadership and skill on the field.

Højbjerg's football journey began in his youth with Danish clubs Skjold, KB, and Brøndby. In 2012, he made a significant move to Germany, joining Bayern Munich. He made his senior debut for the reserves that same year and quickly rose to prominence, becoming the youngest player in the Bundesliga for Bayern at just seventeen years old. Over his time with the club, he made twenty-five appearances and contributed to various domestic and international successes, including loan spells at FC Augsburg and Schalke 04.

In 2016, Højbjerg signed a five-year contract with Southampton for an estimated fee of twelve point eight million pounds. His tenure at Southampton was marked by one hundred thirty-four appearances, after which he transferred to Tottenham Hotspur in 2020 for an initial fee of fifteen million pounds. During his time with Spurs, he made one hundred eighty-four appearances before embarking on a loan to Marseille in 2024, where he later joined permanently in 2025.

On the international stage, Højbjerg has represented Denmark at various youth levels, from under-16 to under-21. He made his senior debut for the national team in 2014 and has since participated in prestigious tournaments, including UEFA Euro 2020, the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and Euro 2024, solidifying his status as a key player for his country.
