Pierre Hétu

Pierre Hétu, born on April 22, 1936, was a distinguished conductor and pianist whose musical journey began in the mid-1950s. His early education at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec à Montréal laid a solid foundation for his illustrious career. Under the tutelage of Germaine Malépart, he honed his piano skills, while also delving into the intricacies of acoustics at the University of Montreal.

During his studies, Hétu was fortunate to learn from notable figures such as Jean Papineau-Couture, Gabriel Cusson, and Conrad Letendre, who guided him through the realms of harmony and counterpoint.
